117 people were arrested yesterday (26) for violating quarantine regulations, Sri Lanka Police said.
The Police Media Spokesperson says that the police have intensified the quarantine procedures as the formation of Covid-19 clusters and subclusters have been observed from various localities.
Sunday (25) recorded the highest number of people the police have arrested within a period of 24 hours, since enforcing the law regarding the quarantine gazette on the 30th of October 2020 to date.
134 persons were arrested from Western Province, 39 of them being from Colombo City.
45 have been arrested in Gampaha District and 50 from the Kalutara area.
