Argentina’s navy concerned about oxygen levels of vanished submarine

After the Argentinian submarine went missing last Wednesday, Nov 15, a massive search operation is being going on.

According to Argentina’s navy, they are concerned about the oxygen levels inside the submarine which carried forty-four people, including a woman.

The submarine, ARA San Juan, was returning from a routine mission in Ushuaia, near the southern-most tip of South America, when it reported an “electrical breakdown”.

Naval commander Gabriel Galeazzi stated that the submarine surfaced and reported that a breakdown had occurred, which was described by him as a “short circuit”in the sub’s batteries.

The submarine was ordered to cut its mission short and return to Mar del Plata naval base immediately.

The last contact made with sub was at 07:30 (Argentina time) on Wednesday, November 15.
