The National Sexually Transmitted Diseases and AIDS (STD/HIV) Control Programme says there is a risk of HIV infection through tattoos.
Director of the Programme, Dr. Sisira Liyanage, said that the usage of contaminated equipment and the usage of non sterilized equipment are the reason for this issue.
