The Disaster Management Centre says, a sum of one million w has been allocated per district for a possible state of emergency that may arise owing to the prevalent showery weather condition.
Director of the National Disaster Relief Services Centre, Chaminda Pathiraja, said the funds have been provided to the district secretaries.
He added that the remaining funds will be obtained from the National Insurance Trust Fund Board. Pathiraja also noted that the district Ssecretaries have been advised to establish relief camps and to inquire into the facilities of those affected.
