The price of a 24-carat gold coin in Sri Lanka has soared past the Rs. 160,000 mark.
According to gold dealers, a 24-carat gold coin has been priced at Rs. 167,000 today.
Meanwhile, a 22-carat gold coin has been priced at Rs. 154,500.
However, a number of gold jewellery stores have reported a shortage of gold in the country.
