MEPA team collects water samples near X-Press Pearl wreckage

The Marine Environmental Protection Authority (MEPA) which was probing into the possible oil leak from the MV X-Press Pearl wreckage has collected water samples from the vicinity.

It’s estimated that the environmental damage caused by the ship would last for around 20 years.

Speaking at press conference today (10) Environment Minister, Mahinda Amaraweera said that legal action will be taken against all parties responsible for the environmental damage the country has suffered.
