Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has instructed the Inspector General Police to assign the Criminal Investigations Department( CID) to probe into the death of the Dutch Monk.
The Prime Minister instructed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chandana Wickramaratne to dispatch a special CID team to the area to apprehend the perpetrators.
In response to the Prime Minister , the Inspector General said a number of teams have been dispatched to investigate the monk’s death. A CID team had also visited the area to commence investigations, he added.
