The Office of the Prime Minister has refuted claims that Parliamentarian Chathura Senaratne’s wedding was held at the official residence of the Prime Minister at the Temple Trees.
The statement said the wedding was held at the function hall in the premises of the Temple Trees that is lent out for state and other functions.
The statement noted the hall was rented and is ordinarily given out for functions.

The Prime Minister’s Office denied claims that the hall was given out free of charge for the wedding.
The statement also noted that MP Chathura Senaratne obtained the hall having paid the due sum of money stating the Prime Minister’s Office was not involved in the decor or food at the function.
