Residents of Halgahawatte which is an isolated area in Wanathamulla, Borella staged a protest today.
The protest was over the lack of essential goods. Despite having received Rs.5000 from the Government they were unable to purchase essential goods, they said.
Officer-in-Charge of the Borella Police arrived at the location and reached out to the area Divisional Secretary.
He was able to stop the protest after the promise of giving them a solution within the next 2 days.
