Election commission has accepted the appointment of Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa as the leader of the new political party ‘National Peace Alliance’.
Name of the Political party “Our National Front” was changed as “National Peace Alliance” last week. Now Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has been appointed as the leader of the new alliance with UNP MP Ranjith Madduma Bandara named as General Secretary.
United National Party (UNP) Working Committee ended without any decision after UNP working committee members failed to reach consensus over several matters including the proposed name of the new UNP alliance and it’s symbol to contest the upcoming Parliamentary election.
