The Sri Lankan Public Utilities Commission says that 2,000 MW are due to be added to the national grid.
Director General, Damith Kumarasinghe, said plans have been made to generate this energy via solar panels that will be mounted on certain selected building.
He added that the general public can submit their opinions on the matter until November 20.
