Sri Lanka Muslim Congress to vote against the no-confidence motion

Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) Leader Minister Rauff Hakeem said today that his party has decided to vote against the no-confidence motion moved by the Joint opposition against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Minister Hakeem said the SLMC took the decision after lengthy deliberations at a meeting held yesterday evening in Colombo.

The SLMC leader said although the motion has targeted the Prime Minister it is aimed at defeating the entire government and the party doesn’t want that result.

The parliamentary debate on the no-confidence motion will start at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow and continue till 9:30 p.m. A vote by name will be taken after the debate.
