The three-member committee appointed by the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to study the Presidential Commission report on the Central Bank Treasury Bond issuance has recommended that the parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake should not exercise any duties as UNP Assistant Leader until the investigation on the bond issue was over. President, party leaders discuss future action to implement recommendations of Bond commission report

Maithripala Sirisena held a special meeting with the party leaders at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday (29) to discuss future steps to be taken on the report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Bond Issuance of the Central Bank. During this meeting, discussions were held regarding filing legal cases against those who were involved in the scam and recovering the losses to the government. Bond Commission Report made public online

The final report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into bond issuance has been published online on the President's official website. On 16 January, the Secretary to the Bond Commission that inquired into the Issuance of Treasury Bonds forwarded the Soft Copy of its Final Report, which was handed over to the President on 30th December 2017. At a meeting held at the President ordered the relevant authorities to release the report online so it can get the attention of the general public. "Keeping my promise of transparency, the report of the Commission of Inquiry on the Issuance of Treasury Bonds is now available in English," the President said in a Twitter post. The Central Bank of Sri Lanka confirmed yesterday that in response to the numerous requests, the Bank will conduct a forensic audit into the issuance of Treasury bonds during the period from 2008 -2014.
