A new agreement to continue Sri Lanka’s national government – Minister Amaraweera
The General Secretary of the United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Minister Mahinda Amaraweera says that a new agreement will be prepared to continue the coalition government with the United National Party (UNP).
Minister Amaraweera said that before President Maithripala Sirisena left the country for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London, he instructed the five-member committee headed by Minister Sarath Amunugama to prepare a necessary proposal on the implementation of the national government in the coming period.
President Sirisena appointed a committee comprising five Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) members to look into the feasibility of continuing the national government with the UNP.
