Amazon opens a supermarket with no checkouts

In a move that could revolutionize the way we buy groceries, Amazon opens its first supermarket without checkouts - human or self-service - to shoppers on Monday. Amazon Go, in Seattle, has been tested by staff for the past year. It uses an array of ceiling-mounted cameras to identify each customer and track what items they select, eliminating the need for billing. Purchases are billed to customers' credit cards when they leave the store. Airtel partners Google for online purchasing for first time in Sri Lanka

For the first time in Sri Lanka customers will be able to purchase apps and other digital content through their Airtel recharges or reloads launching with Google Play. This Direct Carrier Billing (DCB) service named AirPay will permit prepaid customers to have their purchases deducted from their remaining balances, while postpaid customers will have their purchases incurred to their monthly phone bill.
