Sri Lanka PM expects the Central Expressway to bring economic development to northern provinces
Ranil Wickremesinghe says that the construction of the Central Expressway will ensure good infrastructure stretching from Hambantota to Kandy, growing the economy and creating jobs.
The Prime Minister expressed these views while making an observation tour at the construction site of the Central Expressway yesterday.
The construction of the expressway from Kadawatha to Dambulla via Kurunegala under Central Expressway Project (CEP) will be completed in four stages.
The four stages in the Phase I of the CEP are: Stage 1 - Kadawatha (0.0km) to Meerigama (37.1km), Stage 2 - Meerigama (37.1km) to Kurunegala (76.8km) and Ambepussa link road (9.3km), Stage 3 - Pothuhera (0.0km) to Galagedara (Kandy) (32.5km) and Stage 4 - Kurunegala (76.8km) to Dambulla (137.1km).
