ICC to reconsider Sri Lanka’s membership if elections are not held
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has warned Sri Lanka that it will reconsider Sri Lanka’s membership status if elections for the Sri Lanka Cricket board are not held within six months.
The ICC Board today agreed to allow a representative of the Sri Lankan Sports Minister to sit as an observer to the ICC Board and Full Council, but requested that elections for Sri Lanka Cricket are held within six months, failing which SLC’s Membership status would be considered.
The decision was announced when the ICC today concluded its five-day Annual Conference in Dublin.
At the conference the ICC also got strong support for strengthening the ICC Code of Conduct.
