Gnanasara Thero transferred to prison hospital after surgery
Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero who is currently serving 6 years in prison will be transferred to the Prisons Hospital following the surgery at the Jayewardenepura Hospital.
All have been arranged for the transfer of the Thero, as the health condition of the Thero has stabilized, stated the Director of Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital Dr. Susitha Senaratne.
Accordingly, Prison Authorities will escort Gnanasara Thero to the Prisons Hospital this evening (30).
Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero was convicted of four charges over Contempt of Court and sentenced by the Appeal Court to 19 years of rigorous imprisonment, to be completed within 6 years on August 08.
