Sri Lanka calls for proposals for 90 solar power plants of 1MW capacity each
Sri Lanka's power monopoly Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has decided to call International Competitive Bids for the development of 90 small-scale solar power plants of 1 MW capacity each under the second phase of the Suryabala Sangramaya Programme.
The cabinet of ministers granted the approval for the RfP issuance in October last year.
Plants will be developed on a Build Own and Operate (BOO) basis and will supply power to the National Grid. Power from solar power generators will be connected to 17 grid substations identified by the CEB. Public-private partnership agreements will be signed with CEB for a period of 20 years.
Deadline for submission of proposals is 23 March 2018.
