Five Sri Lankans illegally migrated to Azerbaijan detained
Azerbaijani authorities have detained five Sri Lankan citizens who in an attempt to enter Europe have arrived in Azerbaijan illegally through a people smuggling network.
In a joint operation against illegal migration, the Azerbaijani State Migration Service and the State Border Service have detained the five Sri Lankans, Azeri-Press Agency reported.
The investigation revealed that citizens of Sri Lanka arrived in Azerbaijan in order to illegally travel to Europe via the Azerbaijan-Iran-Turkey route, the State Migration Service told APA.
