Livelihood development programmes to support Northerners
The National Integration and Reconciliation Ministry under the direction of President Maithripala Sirisena has reportedly initiated livelihood development programmes to support conflict-affected communities.
Among these conflict-affected communities are internally displaced persons, refugee returnees, women-headed households, rehabilitated ex-combatants, families of missing persons and low-income families.
According to reports, under this initiative, Tholakatti Nelli Crush production in the Kopay Divisional Secretariat Division was supported to construct a factory unit with quality standards including machinery at a cost of Rs. 3.5 million.
