The Irrigation Department has issued a Amber Flood Warning Alert to the people living in the Kalu River Basin. According to the Warning message,
A considerable rainfall has been occured in catchment areas of Kalu Ganga Basin as of 3.00 PM today. y analyzing the current rainfall situation and river water levels of Hydrological Stations in Kalu Ganga, there is a possibility occuring a considerable flood situation in lowline areas of Kalu Ganga Valley situated in Pelmadulla, Nivithigala, Ratnapura, Kuruvita, Ayagama and Elapatha D/S Divisions. Ir is requested to pay high attention in this regards by the residents in those area and vehicle drivers running through those areas.
The Notice is valid for 24 hours from 3.00pm of 31st Sepetember 2022.
