Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has informed parliament of a meeting that has been scheduled by him between political party leaders to discuss on the delay in holding Local Government Elections in Parliament, at 5:30 p.m. today, November 24.
A parliamentary debate took place on Thursday, November 23, in relation to the delay in carrying out Local Government Elections.
Meanwhile, Joint Opposition MPs submitted a motion of No Confidence against Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Faiszer Musthapha, to the Speaker, yesterday, November 23.
The issue pertaining to the delay in Local Government Election and the No confidence Motion against the subject minister will be taken into consideration, today, Novrembe 24, at the meeting of party leaders.
