Sri Lanka postal strike continues indefinitely as no solution has been given 

The Joint Postal Trade Unions Front says the strike action launched by them in protest against the recruitment process will continue since the authorities have not been able to provide a proper solution to their demands.

Co-convener of the trade union front Chinthaka Bandara said that the strike would be continue indefinitely.

Meanwhile, Postal and Telecommunication Officers’ Association has also joined the strike since Tuesday midnight. Its General Secretary H.K. Kariyawasam said that they will be engaged in the strike action until the scheme of recruitment is put in order.

The Joint Postal Trade Unions Front say that over one million letters have been piled up at the Colombo Central Mail Exchange alone by Tuesday afternoon because of their strike action.

Postal workers launched the strike from Monday afternoon in protest against the recruitment procedure.
