The rule of law and democracy of the parliament should be upheld while ensuring the authority of the legislature, says the Leader of the Opposition R. Sampanthan.
He stated this in a letter submitted to the Speaker of the Parliament.
The letter also makes a request to defend the rights of the democratically elected representatives and to convene the parliament in order to ‘enable the parliament to perform its legitimate functions’.
