Addressing the special press briefing today, Minister Kanchana Wijesekara said that the Ministry of Energy has decided to allocate selected fuel stations on Fridays for essential Health services to obtain fuel.
The Minister said that Health Ministry officials along with the GMOA had raised concerns that even surgeries are delayed at hospitals due to essential staff not being able to report to work due to the fuel crisis.
Therefore, health authorities have been requested to suggest selected fuel stations district wise, so that those will be allocated for emergency health services on Friday of every week.
He further added that rest of the health staff also will be provided special arrangements through public transportation so that essential services at hospitals can continue without any hindrance
