The Joint Opposition charges the game of cricket in Sri Lanka is facing continuous shortcomings due to the failures of the present administration.
Speaking during the adjournment debate in Parliament Joint Opposition Parliamentarian Kanchana Wijesekera said the cricket’s governing body is acting irresponsibly.
MP Wijesekera stressed the game of cricket united all races in the country at certain times of conflict.
The Parliamentarian noted regardless of defeats in the past Sri Lankan fans never ridiculed the Lankan cricket team adding the fans at present are engaged in such attempts.
He reiterated the responsibility of the recent events should be borne by relevant officials and the Minister of Sports Faiszer Musthapha.
MP Kanchana Wijesekera said not only cricket but the entire sports industry is experiencing a crisis at present.
