The shortage of paper material to print question papers has affected the conducting of school term tests in many areas, the Daily News learns.
According to the Western Province Education Director Srilal Nonis, it has been decided to postpone the term tests of Grades 9, 10 and 11 until further notice due to this situation.
He said that private institutions printing the question papers have informed the Educational authorities that they are running out of paper required to print question papers.
However, the Provincial Director told the Daily News that they will be able to conduct the term test for Grades 6, 7 and 8 without delay using the available paper stocks. He was uncertain about a possible date to begin the term test for Grades 9, 10, and 11 as it has to be decided only after the authorised printers received enough paper stocks.
