As a country, Sri Lanka has fallen on the path of prosperity, State Finance Minister Ranjith Siambalapitiya said.
He said this while addressing a meeting in Ruwanwella last evening. He said the country is now moving on the path of prosperity.
Even though our country was bankrupt and marginalized, it is now receiving good international recognition.
“At the beginning of the new year in 2022, we had to temporarily stop paying our loans because our country was highlighted as bankrupt. It was sad to say that April 12 of last year marked the bankruptcy of our country,” he said.
“Currently, though our country is not fertile it has now entered a fertile valley,” the state minister said. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
