Sri Lanka Navy arrests 7 Indian fishermen for poaching in territorial waters

Sri Lanka Navy has arrested seven Indian fishermen and seized their trawler today for allegedly crossing the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) and fishing in Sri Lankan waters. Sri Lankan Naval personnel on Thursday apprehended the Indian fishermen along with the trawler for poaching in the Sri Lankan territorial waters near the Delft Island, according to Indian fisheries officials. The captured fishermen, all belonging to Tamil Nadu's Rameswaram district, have been taken to Kankasanthurai Naval Camp for interrogation, ANI reported.

Sri Lanka Navy arrests 12 Indian fishermen for poaching in Sri Lankan waters

Sri Lanka Navy has arrested 12 Indian fishermen from Tamil Nadu for allegedly breaching the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) and poaching in Sri Lankan waters. Naval personnel attached to the Northern Naval Command arrested the Indian fishermen along with two trawlers for poaching in Sri Lankan waters near Delft Island on Thursday (04). The fishermen are natives of Rameswaram district of Tamil Nadu, ANI reported.
