Three associates of underworld leader ‘Makandure Madush’ arrested
The Organized Crime Prevention Division (OCPD) of Sri Lanka Police says three close associates of underworld leader 'Makandure Madush' including his close confidante have been arrested and they are being questioned.
A spokesperson of Organized Crime Prevention Division said Akila Niroshan Palliyaguru, who was in charge of the heroin business and financial affairs of 'Makandure Madush', was arrested along with Ishanka Savithri the wife of another underworld drug kingpin Devundara Chamil and Manoj Kavinda, who had been involved in the drug racket.
The suspects were arrested while they were traveling in a vehicle on a tip received by the Special Task Force (STF) Police intelligence unit.
