US$ 56 mn project proposed to regulate IT education and its use for e-teaching in schools

The Ministry of Education is to prepare a project proposal to streamline the information technology (IT) education and use of information technology for teaching in Sri Lanka schools. Under the project it has been proposed to establish a center for the creation of e-learning resources for teaching using computers and provide computers and accessories for all regional computer resource centers. Further the proposed project also plans to establish regional level IT education centers at Nilwala National College of Education and Addalaichenai National College of Education. Sri Lankan President arrives in Seoul for state visit

Maithripala Sirisena arrived at the Incheon International Airport in Seoul on Tuesday commencing a three-day state visit to South Korea on the invitation of President Moon Jae-in. He was received by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cho Hyun, Chief of National Security, Chung Eyi-yong and other high dignitaries. Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena will leave for South Korea today on a three-day state visit from 28 to 30 November 2017 at the invitation of South Korean President Moon Jae-in. President's visit aims to strengthen diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and the Republic of South Korea. The visit coincides with the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. According to a statement by the South Korean President's office President Sirisena is scheduled to start off the visit by paying tribute at the Seoul National Cemetery on November 29. Sri Lankan President to visit South Korea next week

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena on the invitation of President Moon Jae-in will undertake a state visit to the Republic of Korea from 28 to 30 November 2017, the Foreign Affairs Ministry said. The visit coincides with the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and the Republic of Korea. On 29 November, President Moon is scheduled to meet President Sirisena for summit talks, and host the Sri Lankan President to a state dinner.
