Sri Lankan President Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa has created a new Ministry for Public Security and placed the Police service under its purview, in addition to the Technology Ministry established by him under the same gazette notification.
The Sri Lanka Police Training College, Civil Defence Department and Department of Multi-Purpose Development Task Force have also been placed under it.
