The Parliamentary Council yesterday (03) ratified the nominees for5 Independent Commissions recommended by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
• National Election Commission – Nimal Punchihewa
• Public Services Commission – Retd. Supreme Court judge Jagath Balapatabendi
• National Police Commission – former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chandra Fernando
• Bribery Commission – Retd. Supreme Court judge Eva Wanasundera
• Finance Commission – Sumith Abeysinghe
