President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will not resign, Chief Government Whip Johnston Fernando informed Parliament today.
Addressing the Parliament session for today, the Minister said 6.9 million citizens of the country have voted for the President.
“As a responsible Government, we state President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will not resign from his post for any reason,” Minister Fernando said.
He further said that the Government will face the current national crisis.
Minister Fernando made the statement in response to a statement delivered by opposition MP Nalin Bandara.
