I saw ladies and gentlemen clapping when a man was being lynched
They clapped and clapped until the man was dead
I saw social justice warriors calling to burn the country
They deleted their posts and tweets from their online history
I saw university students pelting stones and petrol bombs
They had learnt well how to act like violent mobs
I saw the ever so religious youth wielding long curved swords
They must have come after praying to their one and only god
I saw lawyers in their robes applauding those who violated the law
They set them free again to kill and burn thousands more
I saw the protectors of peace standing still while being assaulted
They were to remain silent as they had been strangely ordered
I saw media moguls spreading untruths to provoke the citizen
They have no ethics but thirst for blood and destruction
I saw computer programmers writing hateful comments
They are better at that than writing code for useful projects
I saw leaders failing to protect their people in need
They were too late by the time the demons had done their deed
I saw the elite rich so eloquently promoting anarchy
They have since hidden their expensive cars of luxury
I saw men smiling wickedly when the homes of others were looted
They used to go saving people when those homes were flooded
I saw sweet lovers on social media spewing hatred everywhere
They used to give flowers and write poems of peace anywhere
I saw priests and nuns calling their followers to take revenge
They just want eye for an eye behind their saintly pretense
I saw esteemed professors explaining ways to destroy the Republic
They used to preach us the importance of always being democratic
I saw small celebrities joyfully attack bigger celebrities
They know their art will always be lower than their jealousies
I saw engineers fixing nothing when solutions were needed
They give but thousand and one excuses whenever pleaded
I saw friends wishing for their friends to fall from grace
They showed their envious feelings clearly on their face
I saw teachers refusing to teach their students at schools
They never taught anything anyway for we are a Republic of Fools
