LankaTAX Unveils Comprehensive Tax Calculators for 2025/26

LankaTAX has unveiled a new suite of tax calculators designed to help individuals, businesses, employers and tax professionals estimate their tax liabilities for the 2025/26 Year of Assessment.

The calculators are available through the LankaTAX online platform and bring together a range of Sri Lanka’s major tax computations in one digital resource.

Covering key Sri Lankan taxes

The newly introduced calculator suite covers:

  • Individual Income Tax
  • PAYE / Advance Personal Income Tax (APIT)
  • Tax Credit
  • Terminal Benefits
  • Company / Corporate Income Tax
  • Partnership Tax
  • Withholding Tax (WHT)
  • Value Added Tax (VAT)
  • Stamp Duty
  • Betting Tax

The initiative comes as taxpayers and businesses face an increasingly complex tax environment, with changes to tax legislation, rates, thresholds and administrative requirements requiring accurate calculations.

For example, the Inland Revenue Department’s current APIT schedules apply from 1 April 2025, with the monthly gross remuneration threshold for APIT deductions set at Rs.150,000, equivalent to Rs.1.8 million annually.

Bringing tax calculations into one platform

LankaTAX is positioning the calculator suite as part of a broader digital tax information platform. In addition to calculators, the platform provides access to tax Acts, Gazettes, circulars, tax guides, schedules, forms and returns.

The platform’s tax legislation section includes the consolidated Inland Revenue Act incorporating amendments through March 2025, as well as updated legislation relating to VAT and other areas of taxation.

This combination of tax legislation, guidance and calculation tools is intended to make it easier for users to move from understanding a tax rule to estimating its financial impact.

Supporting taxpayers and professionals

The calculators could be particularly useful for individual taxpayers calculating income tax, employees checking APIT deductions, employers reviewing payroll tax, businesses estimating corporate tax and professionals carrying out preliminary tax computations.

The development also reflects a wider move toward digital access to Sri Lankan tax information. The Inland Revenue Department itself provides online tools and schedules covering areas including APIT/PAYE, WHT, VAT, CIT, IIT and PIT.

Part of a broader LankaTAX digital tax platform

Beyond the calculator suite, LankaTAX provides access to tax resources including official tax documents and tax-related information. Its tax forms section, for example, includes 2025/26 estimated income tax documentation and other return-related resources.

With the launch of its 2025/26 Tax Calculator suite, LankaTAX is seeking to provide taxpayers with a single digital destination for researching Sri Lankan tax rules and carrying out practical tax calculations.

LankaTAX is an AI-powered digital tax platform designed to make Sri Lankan taxation information easier to access, understand and use. The platform brings together AI-powered tax assistance, tax legislation, Gazettes, circulars, tax guides, tax schedules, tax forms and returns, tax calculators and tax news in one integrated service. Its AI Assistant allows users to ask tax questions in English, Sinhala or Tamil, while users can also upload tax-related PDF documents and ask questions about their contents.

The calculators are available online through the LankaTAX Tax Calculator portal.
