The Sri Lanka Navy has arrested two suspects off the seas of Kankesanthurai, while allegedly attempting to smuggle a stock of gold worth nearly Rs. 50 million.
Navy media spokesperson, Commodore Dinesh Bandara said the arrest was made while the suspects were smuggling seven kilograms of gold in a boat.
The suspects are residents of Jaffna and are set to be handed over to the Sri Lanka Customs Department.
