The court has granted bail to the suspect arrested in connection with burning a pet dog at a house in Negombo alive and killing the animal inhumanely.
Negombo magistrate Court has release the suspect for allegedly setting the dog on fire on Rs.50,000 personal bail when he was produced in court Sunday.
Negombo Police arrested the 38-year-old coconut plucker in Periyamulla yesterday for burning the dog kenneled at a house at Koppara junction in Negombo on the night of December 31, 2018.
The suspect has doused the kenneled pet dog named ‘Charlie’ and his kennel with a flammable liquid and set fire. The severely burned dog later succumbed to its injuries.
