The government has planned to hold the Parliamentary debate on the 2019 Budget from the 8th of November, till the 8th of December 2018.
Parliamentarian Dinesh Gunawardena said the government announced the decision during a party leaders meeting held yesterday.
Meanwhile the request made by the Joint Opposition to hold a one-day Parliamentary debate on the country’s present economic and financial state within this year, was also approved during the party leaders meeting yesterday.
Accordingly the party leaders decided to hold the relevant debate during a Parliamentary session, during the first week of October 2018.
The government also informed party leaders that a proposal to increase the Auditor General’s salary will be tabled in Parliament yesterday.
