The Ministry of Education has taken steps to transfer 3,766 teachers of National Schools throughout the island.
Issuing a statement the Education Ministry said official transfer letters have been distributed to the relevant school principals.
The directives were issued under the third phase of a plan to transfer teachers, who have been employed in a single school for a period of more than 10 years.
Even though it was initially decided to transfer a total of 4,473 teachers, the Teacher Transfer Board decided to reduce the number, owing to unavoidable circumstances pertaining to certain teachers.
