Colombo Additional Magistrate, Ranga Dissanayake issued an order today to further remand Prisons Commissioner, Emil Ranjan Lamahewa and Inspector Neomal Rangajeewa of the Police Narcotics Bureau till the 22nd of this month.
The duo were arrested for their suspected involvement in the 2012 Welikada Prison riots which killed 27 inmates.
Additional Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake also ordered the Criminal Investigation Department to present a progress report on investigations when the case is taken up again on the 22nd.
