The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has arrested the OIC of the Kalkuda Police Station while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 300,000.
The suspect was arrested by the officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption around 11:20 this morning when he was accepting the bribe inside Valaichchenai Korale Pattu Pradeshiya Sabha office.
He was receiving Rs. 300,000 a portion of the bribe Tuesday.
The officer has allegedly requested Rs. 500,000 bribe from an individual, who was planning to open a brick factory in the Valaichchenai, Kalkuda area, to provide a police report that is needed to obtain the assessment report of the Central Environment Authority for the brick factory.
