Ven. Uduwe Dhammaloka Thero has been disembarked from his flight to London by Immigration officials, at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).
This was due to an issue with the date in the court order lifting the overseas travel ban against the Thero.
Ven. Uduwe Dhammaloka Thero had arrived at BIA today (26), to attend Dhamma sermons held in London, when he was told that he was not allowed to board the plane due to an overseas travel ban against him.
However, after inspections, the Thero had been allowed to board the plane, only to be disembarked from it several minutes before takeoff.
It was said that this was due to some issues with the dates in the court order that had revoked his travel ban.
Following the episode, Uduwe Dhammaloka Thero has returned to the temple and his attorneys had visited the court to clarify the legal situation regarding the incident.
