President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday appointed a new Cabinet of Ministers and State Ministers as part of a reform to appease the public who are engaged in protests calling for his resignation.
The Cabinet of Ministers lacks female representation, while several key ministries are also not included in the portfolios.

- Eleven (11) out of the 21 Cabinet Ministers, including the President and Prime Minister, are sons of former politicians.
- No women were appointed as Cabinet Ministers.
- The cumulative average age of the Cabinet of Ministers is 56. (Previous Cabinet was 64)
- No ministers have been appointed for the ministries of Justice, Women, and Child
- 12 first-time Cabinet Ministers have been appointed
