The All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) has named Dr Mohamed Ismail to fill the seat in Parliament made vacant by the resignation of ACMC member Mohamed Navavi.
Ismail will be sworn in as a United National Party (UNP), National List member of Parliament.
The ACMC led by Minister Rishad Bathiudeen is part of the UNP-led United National Front (UNF) alliance.
