The Department of Meteorology forecasts that showers or thundershowers could occur over most provinces in the country after 2:00 p.m. today.
Showers will occur in the North-central, Eastern, Southern and Uva Provinces in the morning as well, the department forecasts.
Heavy falls of about 100mm, within 24 hours, can be expected at some places, particularly in Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces.
The Met Department added that misty conditions could also be expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces during the morning hours.
