A body of a 22-year-old female was found washed ashore at the Kalu River bank in Kalutara North, last afternoon, the police said.
Following information received, Kalutara North Police had recovered the body and initiated investigations.
The deceased woman has been identified by her parents as Erandika Hansamali Kandegama, a resident of Kethhena, Thebuwana.
The body is lying at the Nagoda Hospital Morgue and the post mortem examinations will be conducted today.
The cause of the death is not yet known.
Kalutara North Police are conducting further investigations.
