The Criminal Investigations Department has initiated efforts to confiscate property belonging to 24 suspects identified as drug racketeers.
Police Media Spokesman Superintendent of Police Ruwan Gunasekara speaking during the drug eradication programme held at the Government Information Department said accordingly properties of suspects who were arrested in connection to drug racketeering and of those who are absconding Police by fleeing the country will be confiscated.
The Police Media Spokesman said an investigation pertaining to the matter is currently underway.
Accordingly investigations are being carried out according to the clauses of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act No.5 of 2006.
