Discussions to bring together religious forces, political parties, civil organizations and trade unions to form a Democratic National Front will start from the first week of January, Minister Mano Ganesan says.
The Preliminary work to establish the Democratic National Front has already been completed according to the proposal submitted by the leader of the United National Front (UNF), Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to the Working Committee of the United National Party (UNP),
Under the leadership of the UNP as the main constituent of the UNF, the leaders of the UNF are making arrangements to bring all political forces that value democracy in the country, Minister Ganesan said.
Mr. Ganesan said the Democratic National Front is the strongest force representing all the other ethnicities including Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim, Burgher and others who wish for democracy in Sri Lanka.
The Democratic People’s Front Leader said that people of all ethnicities from Point Pedro in the North to the Dondra of the South will be rallied around the united Democratic National Front within six months.
